Common Shipping Labels

The two most common shipping labels can be split into two categories: 2 and 4 labels per sheet.

2 Shipping Labels per sheet

The most common 2 labels per sheet are the half sheet labels.   The dimensions are 8-1/2 x 5-1/2.  They are being used widely to create shipping labels by carriers that allow you to print your own labels such as: USPS, UPS, FEDEX.  Websites such as Ebay, Paypal that have integrations with shipping label printing software will most likely use the labels of this size.  There is also a second popular shipping label with the dimensions 8-1/8 x 5.  These are a little bit smaller, but they have rounded corners.  Some use these labels as alternatives to the half sheet labels because they want to have rounded corners.  One must be careful when going from the half sheet to these rounded corner shipping labels because they are a little bit smaller.  It is best to test the print first before moving over for the more designer rounded corner  labels.

4 Shipping Labels per sheet
The second most common shipping labels the quarter sheet labels with 4 labels per sheet that is 4-1/4 x 5-1/2. These labels can be used to print carrier specific shipping labels with tracking information on them as well.  USPS world ship supports the 4 labels per page options. There are also rounded corner variations of these labels that come in the following sizes: 4 x 5, 3-1/2 x 5, 3-3/4 x 4-3/4.  These rounded corner varieties should also be tested if you are moving from the quarter sheet labels.

There are also the common 6, 8 and 10 labels per sheet but that is for another time.
